For those new to your work, can you introduce yourself and your design philosophy?

I’m a New York-based interior designer known for my playful, thoughtful approach to spaces that never take themselves too seriously. My work balances bold creativity with real comfort, because a beautiful room should be layered and lived in. I’m drawn to colour, texture, and a little bit of mischief, always designing spaces that feel personal, welcoming, and unmistakably reflective of the people who call them home.

How would you describe your approach to bedroom design?

Other rooms can handle experimentation and energy, but the bedroom is about peace and tranquillity. More than any other room in a home, the bedroom is where I really listen to my clients’ preferences, but generally, I lean towards soft, natural tones - blues, greens, peach, and earthy hues. This is the space I want my clients to feel the best they possibly can, so comfort is essential, from the feel of the flooring under bare feet to the fabrics on chairs and bedding. The bedroom should be a restful, personal sanctuary.

Are you seeing any interesting trends in bedroom design?

Yes, more couples are choosing separate bedrooms or suites, when space allows, for better rest and individual comfort. It’s become more acceptable to personalise private spaces in this way.

What role does art and personalisation play in your designs?

Art is the soul of a space. It should say something about who you are, whether that's a reflection of your personality, memories, or simply what you love looking at every day. In the bedroom, especially, every design decision matters. Even the placement of the bed is of utmost importance to create a sense of security and proportion. When I design a bedroom, I imagine waking up there myself, thinking about what my clients see and experience the moment their eyes open. You have to fully step into the experience and consider every view, because art and personalization can truly shape how a space lives with you.

How important is the bed itself in the bedroom?

The bed is everything! I’m surprised more people don’t realise how crucial the right bed is. And if you’re questioning the importance, here’s a reminder that we spend a third of our lives in that very spot. It’s not just about soft or firm, but about finding what truly supports you. It’s very personal, especially if you share your bed, sometimes you have to compromise, but a bespoke bed can be made to suit both partners’ needs.

Tell us about your experience with Savoir.

Many of my clients have had Savoir beds and rave about the experience. It’s more than just rolling around in a bed in a showroom, you’re allowed the time and space to consider what comfort means to you. I’m about to have my first Savoir mattress fitting, and I’m excited to see how it can be tailored just for me, and for my husband, so we don’t have to compromise. I think Savoir offers a truly elevated, luxurious sleep experience.

Q: What are you most excited about with your new Savoir bed?

I’m building a new home in the Hudson Valley and can’t wait to design a bedroom around my new Savoir bed. Sleep is so important to me, and having a bed that’s made just for me feels like a real milestone. I’m also looking forward to customising the headboard and fabrics to make the room truly personal.

Q: Any final thoughts for someone investing in a new bed or bedroom design?

Take the time to really experience different beds, you can’t know what suits you until you try. And remember, your bedroom is your sanctuary, so surround yourself with things that make you feel comfortable, secure, and happy.
